Distinct sweet top note of amber, followed by masculine notes of leather and oak.
Warmth of a Memory + Strength of a Story
This scent was developed in collaboration with my friends at Stephens & Stephens Clocks, in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Visiting the family founded and operated shop is like walking into a space suspended in time. The synchronous tick-tock and chiming of antique pieces in the foyer are in harmonious melodic measure with the careful and precise tinkering of the workshop, which is located just beyond a partial partition allowing visitors a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes magic.
The experience, and privilege, of visiting is made complete when you take in the distinct smells around you - wood, amber varnish, lacquer, leather, and steel. When visiting, you can’t help but feel nostalgic, for those memories and moments that have transcended the unconscious mind to appear before you and bring a smile to your face.
The shop is located just off the main streets of historic Havre de Grace, Maryland. Founder and owner John Stephens and his crew of craftsmen focus on the repair and restoration of antique timepieces, building thoughtful and meaningful relationships through their work. Their customers are more like family - sharing appreciation for the artistry of these pieces, and sharing joy in the stories that these pieces hold.

Candle Safety + Burning Tips
It is best to keep your candle wick trimmed to no shorter than 1/4 inch before each burn (more often than not, this happens naturally and you seldom have to trim). Once lit, it is best if not imperative to burn the candle for at least one hour to establish an even wax pool that reaches the edges of the vessel. Soy wax has a memory; it has the tendency to follow the same burn radius (wax pool area) as its previous burn. Establishing an even wax pool is highly recommended to maximize the life of your candle.
Burn your candle within sight and never unattended. Keep away from drafts and vibrations, and free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn a candle on an uneven surface or near anything that can catch fire.
Shine the Light: Campaign for Domestic Violence Awareness
One in five women in America will experience domestic or sexual violence in her lifetime. Every nine seconds a woman is assaulted or beaten. Nearly twenty people per minute in America are physically abused by an intimate partner; during one year, this equates to over ten million men and women.*
As a survivor, I am committed to my endeavor to help those who have been affected by such violence and abuse. For every candle sold I donate ten percent to my Shine the Light Campaign which supports organizations and foundations devoted to raising awareness and fostering advocacy, and who provide a voice to victims and survivors.

About the Process
I hand pour my candles in small batches in my home studio in Newark, Delaware. Each candle is handcrafted with precision, care, and with respect to traditional processes of apothecaries past. Simple and modern with small-town and vintage charm, these candles bring warmth, comfort, and a rustic sophistication to any home.
I use natural soy wax made from American-grown soy beans along with lead and zinc free natural cotton wicks, providing for an eco-friendly, clean and even burn. My candles are scented with premium grade fragrance and essential oils. No added dyes or chemicals.
Each scent is carefully developed and mixed by hand. Each candle is cured for at least one week, often longer, to allow for a sincere marriage of wax to oil and true development of aroma.
